The Academic English Program will help you develop your ability to participate confidently within the university community.

Our English programs

General English (GE1-3) prepares you for the Academic English Program from AE1 through to AE3 for Foundation Studies AE4 for Diploma Studies or AE5 for Bachelor or Masters program, with a focus on the development of Speaking Reading, Listening and Writing.

Outcomes
Students may enter the course from beginner to lower intermediate levels. IELTS and TOEFL test scores act as a guide to place you at the correct level to start your course.

  • How to talk about holidays and experiences

Successful completion of Academic English for Foundation (AE3) allows direct entry* into UTS Foundation Studies and the UTS Insearch Extended Diploma program (with entry requirements of IELTS 5.5).

Academic English for research (AE6) prepares candidates for studying a UTS postgraduate research degree, either at PhD or Masters Level (courses requiring IELTS 7.0). For enquiries contact courses@insearch.edu.au

Successful completion of AE5 satisfies the English Language Admission requirements for most UTS Undergraduate and Post Graduate degrees. Packaging programs

UTS Insearch English courses can be packaged with UTS Foundation Studies and/or diploma courses as well as UTS degrees. You will only need to pay one international student processing fee. One of the advantages of packaged programs is that only one visa is required for the entire study period at UTS Insearch and UTS. Where a package includes English, no further external English test will be necessary before beginning your next course at UTS Insearch or UTS.
