Personal details

You can view and update your personal information using eStudent. This includes:
  • Address: 
    • Permanent (Overseas overseas address) 
    • Semester Address (Sydney residential address)
  • Phone numbers: 
    • Permanent (overseas landline)
    • Semester (Sydney landline)
    • Mobile (Sydney and overseas)
  • Preferred email address (personal email)
  • Emergency contact details.

It is important keep your details up-to-date as they will be used for all communication between you and UTS Insearch, including: 
  • Important information about graduation
  • Management of your student records.

How to update your address

  1. Go to eStudent
  2. Enter your student ID and password; click ‘Log In’.
     
     
  3. From the ‘Homepage', click on the ‘Personal Details’ tab and then ‘Contact’.

  4. To add a new address, click ‘Add New’.

  5. Enter address details and click ‘Confirm Address’. Note, if you live in an apartment or a unit, the room or unit number must be provided

  6. Choose address from list and click ‘Save’.

  7. The address details page will appear with the address that has just been verified and saved.

    If you need to change this address, click ‘Cancel’. This will bring you back to the ‘Contact details’ page where you can edit the address (Step #5).
  8. To edit address details, click ‘Edit’ and follow step #2 and 3.

How to update your phone number

  1. Go to eStudent
  2. Enter your student ID and password; click ‘Log In’.
     
     
  3. From the ‘Homepage', click on the ‘Personal Details’ tab and then ‘Contact’.
  4. To add a new phone number, click ‘Add New’.

  5. Choose a ‘Phone Type’ from the drop-down list; enter the phone number and click ‘Save’.

  6. To edit an existing phone number, click ‘Edit’ and follow step #2.

How to update your email address

  1. Go to eStudent
  2. Enter your student ID and password; click ‘Log In’.
     
     
  3. From the ‘Homepage', click on the ‘Personal Details’ tab and then ‘Contact’.
  4. To add a new email address, click ‘Add New’.

  5. The Email Type will default to ‘Pre 2.6 Preferred’. Enter the email address and click ‘Save’.
  6. To edit the preferred email address, click ‘Edit’ and follow step #2.

How to update your emergency contact

  1. Go to eStudent
  2. Enter your student ID and password; click ‘Log In’.
     
     
  3. From the ‘Homepage', click on the ‘Personal Details’ tab and then ‘Contact’.
  4. To add an emergency contact, click ‘Add New’.

  5. Choose ‘Emergency Contact’ from the ‘Other Contact Type’ drop-down list and enter emergency contact details. Then click ‘Save’.

Other languages

When to update

If you are an international student, you are asked to keep UTS Insearch advised of any change to address, personal email or telephone numbers within 7 days of any change.

Additionally, if you are an international student under the age of 18, you need to live in accommodation approved by either UTS Insearch or the Department of Home Affairs. In order to change your contact details you will need to contact the UTS Insearch Student Centre at studentcentre@insearch.edu.au.

Student visa requirement

If you do not to comply with your student visa requirement, including updating any changes to your personal details within 7 days, your visa could be cancelled.

Your UTS email accounts

As an enrolled UTS Insearch student, you are given a UTS email account. UTS Insearch will use your email account to communicate with you. It is important that you check your email account regularly.

Student ID cards

You will be given a student identification (ID) card during Orientation and Academic Preparation Week. You need to carry this card with you at all times when attending UTS Insearch.

Privacy policy

UTS Insearch respects the privacy of all students and has legal obligations to protect privacy. UTS Insearch needs to collect and use personal information about you to administer student programs and activities.

UTS Insearch is committed to maintaining the privacy of all individuals who we deal with. Our Privacy Policy sets out how we collect, secure, use, handle and disclose your personal information.
