What is a final stage supplementary exam?

If you are a diploma student and have failed one final subject that is required for you to get your diploma, you may be eligible for a Final Stage Supplementary Exam. You will be referred to your Program Manager to be considered for this exam. This is a second chance exam to give you the best possible opportunity to complete your diploma on time.

Your eligibility for a Final Stage Supplementary Exam is based on your performance in the subject throughout the semester. The Program Manager's decision on the granting of a Final Stage Supplementary Exam is final.

Exam rules

The Final Stage Supplementary Exam will cover the entire semesters work and the highest grade awarded is a Pass. If an exam is not applicable to the subject, an alternate assessment will be determined by the Subject Coordinator and Program Manager.

If you are granted a Final Stage Supplementary Exam, you will receive exam details by email from Student Administration. We recommend that you check your UTS email account regularly.

No other exam arrangements will be made if you miss the Final Stage Supplementary Exam. For dates of the Final Stage Supplementary Exam dates and results dates, see our Important Dates page.

When will results be available?

The Exam Team will notify you of your results of the Final Stage Supplementary Exam via email. Please check your UTS email account regularly.

What to do while waiting for results?

While waiting for your Final Stage Supplementary Exam results, you should re-enrol to complete the subject again in the following semester. A late enrolment fee will not be applied in this case.

If you have qualified for an exam and would like to appeal against your original result, you must still sit for the Final Stage Supplementary Exam.

If you pass your Final Stage Supplementary Exam, you will need to un-enrol in that subject as you will have now completed all requirements for your Diploma.

If you cannot attend the exam due to being overseas, you must contact Student Administration at exams@insearch.edu.au as soon as possible. UTS may not offer any late result submissions from UTS Insearch for the upcoming UTS intake.
