Welfare and Accommodation

The UTS Insearch Student Welfare and Accommodation team are your first point of contact if you have any concerns related to your welfare, including physical and mental health, accommodation, finances or other issues.

The team can also help by referring you to other support services and resources as needed – and can even attend appointments with you if necessary.

If you are experiencing issues that are affecting your studies, you should contact a Study Success Adviser who can work with you to help keep you on track. They may also refer you to the Welfare Team or UTS Counselling Service, depending on your circumstances.

Community Help

  • Community Health Centres
Community Health Centres aim to improve the health and well-being of residents through a range of health assessment, management and counselling services via direct walk-ins, telephone or referral.

Services include mental health, alcohol and drug services, health therapies, community nursing and health education programs. There is also counselling, support and treatment for anyone who may have social, emotional, psychiatric or relationship problems. Search community health centre to find your most convenient centre.

General Practitioners (GPs) can give you advice and if necessary, refer you to specialised health professionals.
 
  • Community Mental Health Centres
Every area of Sydney is covered by a community mental health team. Teams consist of health professionals (psychiatrists, nurses, social workers, psychologists and occupational therapists) who provide services to mentally ill clients such as assessment, support, case management and crisis response teams.
